Established in 1876, it became the flagship of the Texas A&M University System in 1948. Its vast campus spans over 5,500 acres and houses the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Offering degrees in over 130 fields of study through 18 colleges and numerous research institutes, Texas A&M is also distinguished as a senior military college with a full-time Cadet Corps. With a rich tradition and spirited community, students, alumni, and sports teams, known as Aggies, actively participate in university traditions and excel in varsity sports competitions as members of the Southeastern Conference.
